Thank you for your beautiful comment. "Everyday Flower" is an album about the loss of what is dear to us, and I am glad (even surprised) that you felt a similar yearning through the audio samples !
Your track "Marianna's trench" is lovely, I like its lightness and airy gentleness.
Best.
Boris
PS : what is the music on your "Mindscape" video ?
Hello Orb Gettar! Thank you for the invite and comment. hey, you have plenty of tracks on your player, I have to listen with time before I leave any comments about your music.
Yes..I still live.. I've just gotten a new computer system and software for my synthesizers, and have been "burning the midnight oil" with Livid Union The ultimate VJ mixer version 2.5...the learning curve is steep....please forgive...I get very lost within my self at times.....
Thanks, Orb, for posting the cool fireworks display along with your guitar synth tune. You are, no doubt, having much fun with that Roland device! It's amazing just how advanced music technology has become, and most musicians are probably only scratching the surface. Have a great week!
Music is YOGA...well maybe an LHP tantra at times... Yet yoke...and the idea of "Bhakti" with a specific intelligences...godforms...thoughtforms,Waveforms... or the empti octopi void.....Music is Enlightenment..Music is "THE WAY" "THE TRUTH" and "THE LIGHT"
Asking me if I have ever visited Boleskine,Is a bit like asking a Mason if he's ever met Hiram or H.P. Lovecraft if he ever attended Miskatonic University...all kind of loaded questions on a mythopoetic and mystical level....yet to answer probably what was a simple question..No I have not..been there literally ...like overseas...but I have seen the Ommadawn..Babalon, the City of the Pyramids, and the Night of Pan.
I believe if I recall correctly that Crowley was engaged in The Sacred Magic of Abramelin the Mage ,and is considered both a theurgic and goetic book of magick. I am sure of other workings too in that period...yet this is the one I have paid the most attention to and givien the most serious thought. As far as leaving and helping Mathers I do not recall....I do know he helped Alan Bennett get to Sri Lanka to get away from the drugs, and essentially pull him out of his Nigredo stage..there are "casualities" in the great blackening(I do not say this lightly) for I was unsure if I would burn up everything else with the dross.holding the breath so gently within,
from the muladhara rise,
aware of the sushumna
the central stalk
that is entwinned by the sacred duality
now absorbed as the prana in breathforce-
as the sun and the moon,
the two pathways
duality transformed
sun as the inner fire built in the resonance of the fire within
moon as the cool grace of light
intellect consumed in the knowing
the pathway leading above to merge as
wisdom...I just remember Mather's and Crowley involved in a somewhat amusing flame war...where Austin Osman Spare played magickal arms dealer to both sides...with his talismatic plates etched with his metaprograming language "The Alpabet of Desire" ...A true Algebra of Need. Alot of your material reminds me of the more conceptual and brilliant recordings by Mike Oldfield(I told you I have seen the Ommadawn!) or elements of Jean Jarre .
Unity...the Sufi mysticism of Rumi and his sacred mirror friend Shams-i Tabrizi
http://www.shamsitabriz.net/shams-rumi.html and a model called "Indra's Net"
http://www.geocities.com/the_wanderling/indras_net.html made clear the ultimate futility of who we think we are...what we think we know...Knowledge is great...but just a part of this human equation. Rumi and Shams say..."No God but God"...the Jewish mystic say that is all there is anyway...William Blake said..."Jesus is the only God,and so am I am so are you"...I have been transformed over the years with both A sword and the olive branch....I hold the two now and stand between them...a sincere and awake student of life's mysteries. To the Sufi's the world is a fashioning instrument...all diamonds start out as a lump of coal. The application of pressure, heat and time...that shall gain us our prized stone....I don't worry about talking about these type of things anymore..."The Secret" protects it's self.It is found only in the spirit and practice of The Work upon The Way...I also am quite fond of you music so far that I have listened to this evening. It's nice to look into other sacred mirrors such as yourself. Om Shanti...
I agree...and much commentary has been written to this effect by many in the OTO and other ceremonial orders. My current work revolves more around elements of Shamanism and Chaos magick(Austin Osman Spare and The Zos Ki Cultus) and creating music,sevitors,channeling...music has become the primary focus this year. My past is more Thelemic than my current magickal paradigm....although Crowley's work and the OTO,as we as GD. was a big part of the evolution of where I find my self currently.I draw from numerous spiritual traditions and models...Norse,Hindu,Sufi,Greek,Hebrew,oriental magick..yet this is the type of philosophical "Tikkune" that takes place in the theory and practice of
of such Meta sciences as Magick. I move forwards in humility...seeking a dialogue with the Higher Self....to work in Tandem with thee Superspecies Metaprogrammer in conscious awareness....
Thanks, Orb, for your comment about "Secret Place". I had a feeling that you would like that one!
Concerning "Return to Forever", that Romantic Warrior album was not only a great work of progressive-fusion, but had a mystical, magical quality to it. It was one of my favorite albums. "No Mystery" by RTF was a decent album too.
Orb, thanks for accepting my request and for the kind comment. Glad that you enjoyed, "Along the Path", with its Bob James-like sounds! I see that you've got 93 tracks loaded in your player. "Kitaro" is a very nice tune which really captures the magic of Kitaro. Namaste, ~John
Glad you're enjoying "Pale Blue..." it should be released later in the year or early next as a longform piece, just over an hour. Improvised during a thunder storm!
I think Mr. McKenna's theory is probably misunderstood by most that if means the "end of the world", when I feel it really means the beginning of when the threshold is reached on how many people believe in the current accepted notion of time and space; when the linear thrust of "history" is suddenly viewed non-linear and "timeless" and exposed for what it really is. Naturally, there will probably be a shrinking minority that still believes in a certain direction to time; most likely the same people that believe the earth is only 7,000 years old and that humans rode dinosaurs like horses, or that the earth is flat.
