We live and breathe music.

Regular Guy says: "I want to be more than I am at this moment in time" Regular Guy decides to do whatever it takes to become more than what he is, so he sets out on the road in order to accomplish his goal.

First, he thinks: "If I have more stuff, lots more stuff, and it's expensive quality stuff, that will make me more than I am at this moment in time." So Regular Guy puts himself through school in order to learn a trade that will get him a good job which will allow him to afford to buy lots of good 'quality stuff'.. Regular Guy achieves this goal quickly, like a stone sinking through water, and when he is sitting in his expensive house with all his expensive stuff, Regular Guy suddenly thinks "what's missing?" and realizes that all his expensive stuff and all his money has not changed him. It has not made him more than what he was at the moment he decided to set out on his path, and he still has a long way to go in order to realize his True Goal.

Regular Guy has just had an epiphany and realized that having money and things is not enough to fill his need for spiritual expansion. So Regular Guy then decides to pursue the Religious Path. Regular Guy then joins a church and becomes part of the 'select few' that will be saved. Regular Guy attends his church regularly, listens to all the 'sage' advice of the priest, reads his Bible regularly, and tries to follow all the precepts and dogma he is taught by his Religion. Regular Guy observes all the proper rituals, behaves as he should, and does everything his Religion teaches him as proper- his future is safe, and secured, and his heavenly afterlife certain and certified, sanctified by the Holy Intelligentsia.

Then one day, the deacons and the elders of his church ask Regular Guy if he wants to be a deacon, and then Regular Guy says he will pray about it and see what God tells him about it. So Regular Guy goes home and does just that. But no answer comes. Regular Guy prays and prays and prays for weeks on end, but gets no answer, nothing he can take back to the elders and the deacons of his church.

It is at that moment that Regular Guy discovers that his plan of following a Religion has also failed at making him more than he was at the moment he decided to set out on his path, and he still has a long way to go in order to realize his True Goal. He has had no inspiration, no True Spark has illuminated his mind, and therefore his path in the Church was just as dark and fruitless as his path to riches.

Regular Guy says, "What am I doing wrong? Why am I not changing? Why do I feel as if I am no farther along the road than the very first day I set out?"

Regular Guy then has another epiphany and realizes that he has been attempting to 'put the cart before the horse' and change from without, that is, by changing his external circumstances and his external behavior, he has been hoping that the change he desires will follow suit and take place from Within Himself. Then Regular Guy realizes he still has a long way to go. So he quits the Church and then decides to learn to meditate and change his Consciousness.

Regular Guy realizes through his practices that his earthly life does not change, or that the changes in his external life do not have an impact on Who He Really Is, it is his focus and his perception that undergoes the necessary change he has correctly intuited all those years ago before he first set out on his journey to become more than he was at that moment in time. He has finally set his feet on the path to enlightenment, and understands that the struggle is not with making the outer world fit with his idea of what will bring about the Inner Metamorphosis he knows he needs and that is certainly possible.

It is an inner struggle that must be approached with candor and fearlessness, and which will brook no half-measures. Regular Guy realizes that a tree does not grow half-way to its intended height and then stop. It goes on to grow into what it was originally intended to be, and becomes mature.

Regular Guy also realizes that along his journey, there have been moments of 'two steps forward, three steps backward', but the only REAL option he has is to move forward and focus on the goal rather than being side-tracked by wallowing in his failures. Regular Guy then understands that it is pretty normal for him to have periods of 'backlashes' and bouts of panic- episodes where, when approaching a 'Door' to an Unknown Area, he freaks out and then tries to 'back-pedal' as fast as he can in order to keep from going over the edge and 'falling into the abyss' of the Unknown.

Regular Guy also realizes that he can never 'go back' when he has the inevitable urges to sink back into his old life of comfort, riches, and external religious forms- because now he knows too much, he realizes those things are only empty forms that contain no real change, and none of these things will make him 'more than he was at that moment in time' when he first set his feet upon the road.

Regular Guy finally understands that he must be mentally and spiritually prepared for the coming Change, and that his earthly life must be reflected by his Actions toward preparing himself for this Change. There is no room for failure, therefore his heart must be in it one hundred percent if he wants to move forward and realize his True Goal, even though he understands that no one thing is more important than another, and that everything is Equal because it is all One.

Alas, even in the natural world, there is violence, and ego is the function of the individual's recognition of the dimensions of the Self. It has no purpose outside of this, however something made it grow beyond its necessary dimensions- the probability that McKenna theorized was that the supply of psychedelic mushrooms dried up, and the matriarchal paganistic pantheist religions were replaced by the patriarchal monotheistic religions. Ownership then became a facet of egoic function whereby the male said, 'mine' and became territorial and moved toward the honing of acquisitional skills. The female of the species was then subjugated to the role of nurturing and caring for the family unit, which developed out of "my" and "mine".

The 'action' outlined in the story is the effort of inner development of the Self, which is a struggle specifically because the society in which we share the 'accepted' reality consensus deliberately tamps down the spiritual connection with the 'Other' in order to maintain the supremacy of the egoic function- what don Juan Matus describes as the order of 'the Tonal' or the 'First Attention'.

The natural world, as can be evidenced by observation at any time, is not forgiving of inattention, and the hunter who is not diligent and impeccable often does not eat.

The function of the natural world is not to shield us, but to teach us the importance of giving nature its due diligence, and to thus live responsibly- in the best possible fashion, therefore, we cannot change the fortune or the fate of another human being, much less their character, and have only a slim hope of changing ourselves.

However, 'being' is as much a personal choice as physically acting, and to 'be' what one truly is, one must have had enough meditation and inner illumination on the subject to realize who and what one truly is, in order to 'be' that.

History is littered with the failures of people who tried to 'be' what they believed they were, when in fact they were confused by grandiose notions engendered by the over-development of egoic function- Hitler being a case in point, as well as Charles Manson, the Reverand Jim Jones, Charles Wayne Gacey, and the Son of Sam- these individuals found a POWER in what they did, and it resulted in something that gave them a twisted sense of accomplishment.

Best said in the statement, 'nothing corrupts one faster than success'. To succeed at whatever one does is only one facet of the multiplicity of existence and being, and we can and most certainly have gotten it wrong on most occasions.

The fallacy of our assumption is that we are merely dissociated onlookers viewing a play from without, when in fact, we are all an integral part of the Cosmic Whole, and our actions do indeed have cause and effect in the Universe- the Zen question comes to mind, in this case: 'how far do the vibrations of a butterfly's beating wings extend?'

Perhaps by choosing to reintegrate with the natural world, and thus 'clean' our connection to Spirit, we can redeem the physical world, and the eschatological event in 2012 will allow us to make those necessary 'network' connections which will aid us in accomplishing this task.

It is certainly true, that if there is no possibility of 'failure', then there is very little likelihood that one will be motivated to act (whether by physical action or by choosing to 'be') in one's own best interest, let alone in the best interest of the Gayan Mind.

We live in an action-oriented culture and time that mistakes action for being, for substance. "If I'm doing something, I matter, I'm making a difference."

Maybe there is nothing for "Regular Guy" to do, but to be. Be fully who he is and be that person fully.

In the liner note for BlueTech's new ep, he said it beautifully: "All of these beliefs about who I am are my ego's attempt at transcendence above unity with the natural world."
