It's interesting that you mentioned glossolalia.... when I played a segment of Shadow, Thief of the Night for a friend he had a little spasm and told me that it reminded me of when his mother and grandmother spoke in tongues when he was younger. He was clearly disturbed by it.
Thanks for responding! At the time I wrote this I was so disturbed that I was going to make all my 'now listening' posts friends only, but I had a change of mind since then.

ZF was a huge influence for me several years ago. I love the very DIY nature of their sound, all the hints of Eastern European folk music, the trance inducing loops, and the sort of eco-terrorist side of their work (some of them met sabotaging fox hunts), and then all the spin-offs like Dead Voices on Air, Spybey, Rapoon, Download, etc. HUGE INFLUENCE.
Listening to Lisa Gerrard's "Silver Tree." She's a real master for me. The glossolalia vocals interspersed with the wonderful instrumental segments like, "Towards the Tower"...which reminds me of moments of Vir Unis. She's a real inspiration for following your own inner voice.
