Let's start with the "I'm leaving AtmoWorks" part.
John, Matt and I have co-owned the label since March 2008 and it's been a very exciting time for me. However, we've decided to part ways. John and Matt will continue to own and run AtmoWorks and I'll be stepping out of the day to day operation of the label.
I've met so many great people through AtmoWorks - fellow musicians, fellow listeners, friends. I'll still be around the community and will always look forward to talking to everyone about music, recording, and everything.
Later this year I'll be launching my label, Relaxed Machinery, and releasing my future music through it. I certainly plan to work with AtmoWorks in the future - releasing music either directly or distributing Relaxed Machinery, collaborating, etc... We're all good friends and that will never change.
Thank you to everyone!
My "new" album ... Interstitial - Temporal Arc
We've been working on my 2001 release Temporal Arc for quite some time behind the scenes at AtmoWorks. I originally recorded and released it through New York based label Red Antenna in 2001. This re-release has been remastered by MjDawn and the new mastering really opens up the tracks and gives them room to breathe. Steve Brand took my wife's original photograph and created a wonderful cover.
Temporal Arc spans ambient techno to beatless drift to microsound and back. The title track blends in darker ambient soundscape with minimal techno beats while Movement In Glass takes it's time through delicate micro soundscapes and minimal melody.
For this release I decided to add a track, Marco Polo, that was originally on an AtmoWorks compilation called Portraits. It was recorded around the same timeframe and fits the album nicely.
Two tracks will be posted on the front page of our community soon and the release is planned for this Friday. I'll definitely be posting more about this album in the next few days...
John
