We live and breathe music.

The path of least resistance describes the physical or metaphorical pathway that provides the least resistance to forward motion by a given object or entity, among a set of alternative paths. Often, this phrase is used to describe the flow of water down a hill, electrical current through a circuit, or the turbulent motion of barometric disturbances through the atmosphere. This concept can also be uniquely applied to human nature. While life doesn't always have to be a struggle, it's in your best interest as a competitive and autonomous human being to choose focused action over lethargy and perpetual movement over stagnation wherever and whenever possible.

We live in a competitive world where only the beautiful, well adapted, intelligent, and overall most fit survive. Whether you choose to compete or not makes no difference.

It is for this reason why I have declared war on my own existence.

Every continuing moment that I remain cognizant, my time will be spent fighting against myself. Contemporary culture makes us terrified of hard work, easily defeated by instant gratification, and causes us to rarely think more than two to three steps ahead. While we don't all share the same conditions, we do share the majority of our major predispositions. As human beings, we all have the ability to convert effort into transformative action. It's time to abolish the paralysis of modern diversion. You are suffocating more and more every day. Learn to hate lethargy more than cancer. Mobilize yourself. Think fucking harder. Get a dream and wage war.

See you on the top.

I guess everyday of our life on this earth we walk can be a battle. Whether its getting that career, giving up the cake to lose weight or giving up popularity in order to hold on to moral values. Its all a matter of attitude.

I think the "war" only gets bigger because we make a bigger thing out of it instead of just doing it and getting it out of the way.

For example. If u are tempted to eat the cake, spend the money on fruit instead. For me always thinking about health first is the main reason why I didn't try smoking to "fit in".

Its only a war if u think of it as one. Its all about thinking harder before the situation happens.

I tend to slide up along side this blog and cherry pick some very choice sentiments. While not at war with myself, I do find myself flagging regularly...giving in to what my old music theory professor referred to as "ennui" or a listlessness towards experience. It's something I have to continually battle against, and a very easy trap to fall into.

Force and passion is definitely a good description of futuremotion's blog.

I can see both force and deep passion seething in the text. Part of what you write about I agree with - life is a struggle and there's certainly a tendency towards complacency.

But I don't agree with being at war with myself. I try to accept myself - my strengths and weaknesses - and use them to excel at whatever I'm doing.

Nice post! Welcome to AtmoWorks and I hope we see a lot more of you around here!

Intense. At the absolute polar opposite from my particular perspective on Life. I'll do my best to take in what you've said. My immediate reaction was to war against this blog entry! :-}

It seems to me, that whenever I've struggled against my own inclinations (the ones that circumscribe who I AM at the deepest levels), or struggled to force a certain outcome (usually dictated by my ego and not my heart), I seldom got results, and felt the most disconnected from others and myself. For me, a revolutionary act is to accept myself, without getting caught up in ego-demands of action and doing...especially living in America. But, this isn't really a modern point of view...been around for a long time.

I do appreciate the force and passion of your statement.
