Unexpected Waycoolness
So I went to a concert last night....
A little backstory: this is the Summer of the Show. My wife Eileen and I are seeing no less than 7 live shows between April and July, starting with Eddie Izzard and concluding with The Police. In between, we're seeing Rush (last Sunday), Steely Dan, Lyle Lovett, CSN and the Eagles...an all star lineup by any standard. Rush...well, it goes without saying. They were every adjective you can think of: fantatic, remarkable, legendary.
Last night was Steely Dan, and I must admit I've never been a fan. This show was more for Ei than for me, sort of a balance for the concert season. For me: Rush, CSN, Police. For her: Steely Dan, Eagles. For Us: Eddie Izzard, Lyle Lovett.
So anyway....Steely Dan was amazing! What a great show! I'd love to be able to quote a set list for you, but I have absolutely no idea what songs they played. I walked into that show knowing exactly 5 Steely Dan songs, and I was all about just waiting until I heard them. What I got in the bargain was 15 other really cool tunes that I was unaware of....and that really made the night.
Did I mention that it was a great show? If not, wow. What a great show.
