NEW RELEASE: Exuviae & Kenji Siratori –The Drug Embryo

Now available for free download at: http://www.darkwinter.com/dw050.html

In celebration of Dark Winter's 50th release, this dark and strange musical excursion comes complete with a full-color PDF booklet designed by Exuviae, and a bonus remix of the entire album in one track by Bunk Data.

While certainly not for everyone, this release is sure to please those who like their electronic music dark, bizarre and forward-thinking!

I'm anxious to see what listeners make of this one-comments encouraged!

Sorry about the non-linkable link...the html code wouldn't show up for some reason.

The narration really reminded me of this guy from the Dune-Lynch movie. The Navigator's Emissary:

I thought the drones / textures were really well done, I bet they sound really good at full bitrate:)
I think the comparisons to Burroughs would fall somewhere around "The Ticket that Exploded" or "Nova Express"... at least that is the imagery that was in my mind while reading those.

Well, it's quite an interesting combination of artforms Mr. Rongstad....Keep 'em coming.

Thank you, John!

No-Kenji provded the writing and the audio files of his reading them. I then took that and maniulated/effected his voice and mixed that with my music. The artwork to go along with each "story" I did do myself.
A killer project for me to flex my sound-design skills, for sure.
Yep, years ago, when I was toying with writing myself, I stumbled upon Kenji's stuff and was immediately reminded of Burroughs-though in a more modern/industrial sense of course.

I'd love to do something again of this nature with other writers...

Thanks again!

Brilliant! I love it. Steely textures and metallic drones....just the thing to warm the bones on a chilly autumn night....It's dark and mysterious and strangely sexual and very organic. Did you do the writing on this for each of the tracks in the pdf file? If so, it's intoxicating writing....Reminds me of William Burroughs, obviously....A little too ethereal for Henry Miller, but has the same organic punch in the gut that he has....Again, brilliant work Brooks....

JKN-still can't get the html link thingy to work. I insert the chain thing and the url, but on the preview page it comes up blank-nothing there-not even the words...dunno...

Linking... in most of Ning you have to go through the link button to the right of the S and left of the picture - the link button looks like a bit of chain. I always get a windows warning (askin if I trust this website? yes...) - here's the link
