We live and breathe music.

well due to rain and other things not yet finished making the bone flutes - have taken the ends off but need a dry day outside to cook the marrow out and clean them (my wife, Glenys, won't like the smell inside the house) so still waiting to see how they end up sounding.

Solo and joint projects are going well, just taking their own time as they should.

Recently bought a 16 track mixer and working out how to do some live music....Some of my equipment does not do exactly what I would like to do what I want. I had hoped my Korg D16 would be able to route different sounds through monitor and master Jacks but the routing is not changeable. Been playing around a bit with sounds, listening to see how full or simple to make the sources to mix together.

Also thinking about visuals and if I get into that will most probably have to get some video editing software and learn how to use that as well.

Had the pleasure of seeing the Hampshire Jam Jam gig last night in the UK. A bunch of musicians get together and improvise - no practice runs and not having got together before the actual performance. 4 hours of great live music split up with three musicans playing at any one time. Only pre-organisation is the rota of who plays when and each trio agreeing a key to play in. Inspiring.

Everyone who played at the HJJ is a member of the modulator forum (through which it was organised) as were many of the audience

Nice Hampshire Jam lineup - most I know from the emportal forum or synthesizers.com list.

My last paragraph on the previous post was about sounds on my mixer, not at HJJ....

The Hampshire Jam Jam plays the night before the Hampshire Jam, in the same hall. Perhaps lesser known musicians play than in the Jam itself, Jez Creek aka Modulator ESP, David Gurr and Xan Alexander aka Omega Syndicate, Terje Winther (visiting from Norway), Steve Humphries aka Create, John Sherwood aka 4m44s (and the ambientlive label), Stuart Judd aka Chromengel, Michael daniel aka Hashtronaut and Stephan Whitlan half of Narcosis,
The evenings music is always exemplary given the improvised and unpractised nature of the event.

I had hoped to be able to route some prerecorded sounds off tracks 8 - 12 and live sounds gathered on inputs 1 - 8 via the two different routings into two different sets of inputs on the mixer - I could have had more control over the relative levels of sound that way

Yes, mixers never seem to do exactly what I want them to do either... seems there's always some routing I can't do no matter what I'm using. I try to roll with the little flaws and annoyances and sometimes it works out better than imagined.

Hampshire Jam sounds really nice.
