A little over a year ago, I proclaimed 080808 as "Igneous Flame Day", and listened to nothing but Pete's music all day....and it was good.
In that spirit, I do hereby proclaim today - 090909 - as "Steve Brand Day".

For those of you who might be a bit confused by the sudden moniker change, allow me to explain.
My profile name, and indeed online persona has changed from endoflogic to åpne sinn, which is the moniker I'll be putting out my music under going forward. Literally translated, åpne sinn translates from the Norwegian as "open mind" and I hope expresses not only my attitude towards the music I am trying to create but also speaks to the impression each of you has had on my creativity over the past 18…

Jesse Sola (aka Numina) is back with another brilliant release. His latest work, a 65 minute opus entitled "Sound Symbols" is now available for purchase on the AtmoWorks store for $8.98. Jesse has teamed up with us here at AtmoWorks to offer the download-only version of his latest CD, and we're absolutely thrilled to be a part of this joint venture.
Divided into five distinct parts, Numina's 'Sound Symbols' nonetheless flows seamlessly from one moment to the next, pulling the listener along a g…

So yesterday (today? - is it tomorrow if you haven't slept?) was Thanksgiving here in the States. It's kind of a silly holiday, celebrating a quite possibly mythical winter feast shared by Pilgrims and Indians shortly after the European settlement of the North American continent, but the spirit of the celebration is something I've always connected with. Giving thanks for those things that matter to you is a truly noble pursuit, and I wanted to take a moment to share those things for which I am t…

Following is an article written by Rick Reilly of Sports Illustrated. He details his experiences when given the opportunity to fly in an F-14 Tomcat. If you aren't laughing out loud by the time you get to "Milk Duds," your sense of humor is broken.
On a Wing and a Prayer by Rick Reilly
Now this message is for America's most famous athletes:
Someday you may be invited to fly in the back-seat of one of your country's most powerful fighter jets. Many of you already have .. John Elway, Joh…

So I went to a concert last night....
A little backstory: this is the Summer of the Show. My wife Eileen and I are seeing no less than 7 live shows between April and July, starting with Eddie Izzard and concluding with The Police. In between, we're seeing Rush (last Sunday), Steely Dan, Lyle Lovett, CSN and the Eagles...an all star lineup by any standard. Rush...well, it goes without saying. They were every adjective you can think of: fantatic, remarkable, legendary.
Last night was Steely Dan,…

Santa Claus - An Engineer's Perspective on the Myth vs. the Man
I. There are approximately two billion children (persons under 18) in the world. However, since Santa does not visit children of Muslim, Hindu, Jewish or Buddhist religions, this reduces the workload for Christmas night to 15% of the total, or 378 million children (according to the Population Reference Bureau). At an average (cens…
