About Me:: i'm a U.K based bass guitarist, sound designer, producer and musician.
i'm a member of the musical collective 48 Cameras, who's main base is in Belgium, plus i'm in an "indie" band, from Cumbria, UK., called Soviet Dynamo, where i play slide and bowed guitar, and do all the production/mixing. and to anyone stumbling across this page who isn't familiar with my work (that'll be everyone, give or take a few), i don't use synthesisers to create my work, only bass and electric guitar, and the odd "other thing" (perhaps a piano here and there, too).

Best album(s) of all time?: In This World by Cindytalk. The Pearl by Brian Eno and Harold Budd. Symphony of Sorrowful Songs (Symphony No 3") by Henryk Gorecki.. i don't listen to much music at all.

Are you a musician? What instrument do you play? Type of music?: kind of. i dabble with a few things, none of them proficiently.

i've posted a couple of tracks from what will hopefully be my next offering, which is called "is". i know a few people on here have heard the whole thing, so these 2 tracks "torn" and "premonition", are a small way of introducing those that haven't heard any of it at all to the tone of the album..artwork is on it's way soon.

perhaps, perhaps...

having just finished "is" - my next project - "was" - will be underway very soon. basically it'll be made up of both some brand new pieces, and those tracks that didn't make the final cut for "is" (maybe i should really call it "were"), and probably be in a lighter tone - perhaps! i'm hoping this time it won't take me a year to finish. fingers crossed.

take it all

"take it all" is a track by my band Soviet Dynamo. even though we write "normal" guitar based songs, the ambient element also plays a fairly large part in what we do. plus we like to keep people guessing as to what we'll be doing next. this track is made from 3 slide guitar samples, and a bass string "scrape". you can find more of what we do here: www.myspace.com/sovietdynamo cheers. pj.

Naked Moon

the piece i've uploaded called Naked Moon is a collaboration between myself (i composed the music and did the mix, Norma recited the poem) and Sounds In Bloom, ( http://www.myspace.com/dnorma ) a music and poetry collective based in the USA. it'll be getting a public airing at an art gallery in cambridge MA on friday 16th may. cheers. pj.

Nipiwin
