Profile Information
About Me:
David Schombert, born in Paris 1971, is a French independent electronic musician, producer and sound artist based in Portugal. Since fifteen years and 6 albums, released exclusively on Internet, with more 250 000 free downloads from 80 countries (with reactions amazingly positive), his acclaimed melodic ambient electronic music was used by many TV, radios, NASA, CNES, publicities, etc.
David Schombert always wanted to explore new soundworlds. So, since "The Gate Of Silence (2007)", critically acclaimed dark/ethereal ambient music project, with more 20 000 listeners, he left melodic 'pop electro/ambient/newage' music to explore poetic and dark drones, ambient soundscapes, experimental sounddesign, floating atmospheres and concrete music.
In this moment, he's working on his new project, a computer live experimental drones based music called Vertigo.
David Schombert's music is realized exclusively with synthesizers, and since 2004, only on a computer laptop. His main software is Ableton Live.

Are you a musician? What instrument do you play? Type of music?
"We encounter a lot of ambient artists who are skilled at sound design; we also encounter many artists who are talented composers. But it is not so common to find an artist who is so masterful at both. David Schombert is one of those rare ambient artists who is every bit as much a musician as he is a sound sculptor, and his music can only be described as gorgeous." - Stephen Phlips, Dark duck Record
