The more ambiguous metaphysical reply ;) Music is sound, which is energy, which is what everything in our 'known' universe is ultimately made of. We manipulate our own personal energy environment every day (most of us subconsciously) to match or ...

I looked at this when you posted some time back and I had to think about this. If you've read my page here on .ning, you know that I am committed to the idea that music/sound has healing properties. Interestingly, there are individuals like Byron ...

I've thought about this myself and took part in a trial a few years ago using ambient music in hospitals. It's a slightly tricky area from an artists's point of view. How important is the music or is it the effect the music might have which is th...

Fluid Guitar

I've posted a short thing cunningly titled 'Fluid Guitar'. It's a technique / sound I've just stumbled across. It's an out-take from a piece that will be on the next Igneous Flame / Achromus album in 2010.

cheers
Pete

In case anyone was wondering the recent track I posted is not titled with some cryptic oriental
characters !, At least thats what it looks like here when using Firefox.

It s actually called 'Full Spectrum Dominance'.
It was constructed from a binaural recording, binaural recording involves placing tiny microphones
in the ear and gives a very vivid spatial effect when listened back to on headphones. I know that
Dean uses this technique too.

It can be downloaded on my Myspace profile.

Guitars

I should point out that this post may well be a dull one, unless you're a guitarist !

I've played guitar for almost 30 years now. I've owned lots of guitars, these are the two ones I use
now. I don't believe in having loads of guitars that I'II never use. I have used these two on pretty
much all of my 'guitar ambient' releases.

many thanks Pete. the title was taken from a passage in a book called "birth without violence", which i was also given to read before writing the pieces. indeed i was asked to recite/record a chapter, to music as well (which i will not be posting haha!). as soon as i read it i instantly thought of the Fin whale pulses. it was a strict "one-off", as it was bespoke to the individual wishes of the parents.
thanks again Pete. much appreciated. (Fluid guitar indeed!)

Your new track is a wonderful sounding thing pete!!!
I'll add to Steve Brand's comment how your music alters where you are when you listen to it.
An intensely beautiful and disturbingly sensuous album.

I'm trying to push myself to get out into all the venues for connecting with other ambient folk and Myspace and Atmoworks are a couple of the first. We'll see how much time I have to keep up with everything plus the website. Thanks for the welcome and it has been a pleasure to help the music get a wider audience in my own small way. Keep up the good work.
