When I lived in Chicago in the early 80s, the place to go was Wax Trax, off the Fullerton 'L' Stop near DePaul. I think they are long gone, though, since their label went belly up years ago.

This June, my next solo CD, "Phantoms" will be released on Projekt (www.projekt.com). It is a follow-up of sorts to my 2000 Projekt release, "Gongland," but also brings back some of the non-Western instruments present on my earlier releases for Cuneiform Records and Ominous Thud. My last album was the 2008 Hypnos Secret Sounds release, "Tones For La Monte," under the Sans Serif pseudonym.
The pieces, "Fractal Window II" and "Remembrance" are from a 1999 private release called "The Golden Bell" that was created for my family. I've also included a piece from my 2006 Foundry CD with guitarist Carl Weingarten, "Invisibility," a piece from my "Gongland" CD, and an unreleased live soundscape piece that I recorded in 2008 as "Sans Serif."
Hope you enjoy the sounds.
