Who do you think makes the best artist teams?

Yeah, it's a good one, Chris. Funny thing: took me a while to appreciate this album. I can remember hearing it with a more critical mindset and thinking it had too much overtone flute in it...felt relentless. Although I've had this CD since it came out, it was ony about 3 months ago that I finally put "InnerZone" on my iPod, and it was like I heard it for the first time...or "got it" for the first time. Personally, I love it when this happens. It's nice to connect to something right away, but it's really fun and interesting to grow into a piece of music. I do sometimes wonder, "was it ahead of it's time, or am I behind!?" ;-) Then I remember the saying: "Things don't happen on your time, but on time." (Hard thing to remember in this ego-driven, will-driven world most of us live in.)

Roach, Jorge Reyes, with Suso Saiz, aka Suspended Memories. I've got so many good memories of their album Forgotten Gods, and their follow up Earth Island is strong.

I'd also add Alio Die partners well with other musicians, like R. Rich and Vidna Obmana.

Roach/vidna all around, esp. Well of Souls & InnerZone. But Chris, with Dirk doing his guitar thing now, I wouldn't expect them to team up again anytime soon. Dirk's buried vidna and moved on. Damn brave and wilful - that's what makes him such a uniquely great musician. And it's hard to hear the Fear Falls Burning sound melding with Steve's. But as always, ya never know...

Also Roach/Rich, Suspended Memories, Alio/Rich - and (I'm sure) some of the Atmo gang, to be discovered when I have time.

And who would we like to see work together? That's another thread...

Steve Roach gets a lot of mention in this thread - I have to add my 2pennies - SR/Vir Unis and SR/Vidna Obmana.

Lustmord/Robert Rich - Stalker is another favourite.

Will have to check my collection - Vidnas done some very interesting stuff with some unusual colleagues...
