Just popped over from the Hypnos forum and am delighted to find a section dedicated to visuality. I use music every time I draw and design things. I'm seeing musicians here whose work has been an inspiration to me. Right now, I am working on an extensive design project for my brother Steve's upcoming album release, and hope I can talk about it more when it comes out (when I finally get it done!).
Anyway, to see some of my work that is already out there, see these two Alio Die reissues. I am quite happy with how they turned out:

I would say I'm an extensively self taught amateur, but have somehow gone much deeper than just being an amateur. In the past year or so, I have been formally studying graphic design, printing, and typography. I'm also open to working with, or collaborating with, musicians whose work is inspiring to me. So feel free to drop me a note if you are so inclined.

I'm glad to see you make this distinction, or lack of, between "professional" and "amateur." We seem to define things this way: 1.) Amateurs don't make money creating, but a probably on a trajectory towards being a professional if they are talented enough; 2.) Professionals make money because they are so talented at what they do.

Over the years, this line has been blurred for me. I have been fortunate enough to meet a number of highly talented individuals, some whom make a living doing what they're doing, some who don't/didn't. Money wasn't the distinguishing factor, but instead, it was their native talent and their desire to do what they do, money or no money. I've met extremely talented artists whose work was astounding, but they made their living as an auto mechanic. I've met some professional artists whose work had no life or inspiration, yet they made a living doing it.

By the way, your work is beautiful and how fortunate that you worked with Stefano Musso...a great artist and inspiration to me and my own music.

As with music my photo and artwork is all self taught. I just love playing with light and textures.

I found digital cameras a godsend for saving on paper and ink and brilliant for playing with in photoshop.

Apart from Stellar Nurseries all my releases on Umbra used my artwork as did the Hypnos Secret Sounds CDR Veils, Shadows.

I also agree that Alioe Die and Darkwave covers look great.
