dark ambient

I'm new to ambient music in general, but the dark part really caught my attention when I heard Heresy by Lustmord. Beyond Lustmord the only dark ambient bands I know of are Mortiis and the later Burzum albums (obviously I also like metal). Basically i'm looking for more dark bands to move onto. Open to any and all recomendations on the matter.

In our catalog - the most recent still Earth album - Silver Attracts is fairly dark in places. Industrial soundscape lo-fi ambient drone. Check the music player on our front page for a couple of full length tracks.

Check out "Terra Ambient". Sadly his Site is down - under construction or anything but you should find him on the Internet somewhere. His music is a nice mix between tribal - world and dark ambient music. fairly intriguing stuff...

Hey James!

Seeming you're a fan of Burzum & his more ambient work check out Neptune Towers (Fenriz of Darkthrone) if you haven't already. If you can find it, check out Shinjuku Thief's "Witch" Trilogy-The Witch Hammer, The Witch Hunter & The Witch Haven. A sort of orchestral/dark/ambient series of albums, pretty awesome stuff!
