Liked the samples on the front page, looking forward to the whole experience.
Alva Noto - Xerrox Vol. 2
Really wonderful beatless release from this German artist. A sort of soundtrack based on mutating samples repeatably. To me, it evokes the 'Modern Classical' moniker, though I could not define it if asked to.
Kate Simko - Music from The Atom Smashers
So happy that the music from the wonderful independent film 'The Atom Smashers' was released on it's own :D Mostly beatless, mostly droning electronic accordion sounds with some clicks and static sounds. Two minimal techno tracks are incorporated within the release as well.
Isomer- Face Toward The Sun (Dark ambient/experimental/noise artist from my hometown)
Royksopp- Junior (An amazingly bright album, just love everything they do!)
Muse- The Resistance (A little bit self indulgent, but still pretty cool)
Interpol- Our Love To Admire (This is on major rotation at our house, both me & my wife Fiona just love these guys. Pretty good live act too!)
Skinny Puppy- The Process (The album that actually really got me into these guys, until I heard this I didn't quite "get" them)
np: Cabaret Voltaire - Code (thanks to Matt/MjDawn for ripping this one for me - I had it on vinyl but no easy way to transfer to mp3)
was: Muse - The Resistance (growing on me - as all of theirs do... not sure about this one yet. They really roll out their Queen moments a few times... and the big piano. I like it. Don't *love* it yet - as I can safely say about most of their work...)
was: Depeche Mode - Construction Time Again (their first album with Alan Wilder and the first one they really went nuts with multi-tracking. I'll always be a dm fan...)
