I've been listening to Shuttle358 a lot lately while commuting to work. I didn't think too highly of Chessa (in the awesome light of Frame, who would?) when I first heard it, but lately it's beginning to grow on me. It's actually quite pretty and melodic.

Also the new (and free as in beer) compilation of psytrance from Ektoplazm called Organic Circuitry just found its way into my playlist.

Kasper... I love Shuttle 358 optimal.lp - and understanding wildlife is a lovely album with a slightly different feel (happier maybe? more subdued?). frame just never quite connected with me as much as optimal.lp did.

After years of avoiding it, I was finally given a gift card and couldn't resist making my 80's mix..."My Obscurist 80s" (for me, it had to be obscure...even in '83 I realized what MTV was doing to music...what can I say, art school snob):

Gary Numan - Boys Like Me
OMD - Statues
Eno - Everything Merges with the Night
The Fall - Wrong Place, Wrong Time
Felt - The Optimist and the Poet
Fra Lippo Lippi - Slow Sway
Red Lorry, Yellow Lorry - Spinning Round
Tones on Tail - Go!
The Glove - The Tightrope
The Teardrop Explodes - Tiny Children (I really wanted, Window Shopping For A New Crown Of Thorns or Rachael Built A Steamboat)
Echo & The Bunnymen - Ocean Rain
Magazine - Suburban Rhonda
New Order - Your Silent Face
Section 25 - Looking from a Hilltop (restructure)
The Durutti Column - Requiem Again (I really wanted something from "Return of the..." or "Viva Hate" with Morrissey)
Dig Juz - The Last Day
Cocteau Twins & Harold Budd - Why Do You Love Me?
David Sylvian - Weathered Wall
The Smiths - (I wanted, "I Don't Owe You Anything")
Yello - (I wanted, "Bimbo")
Kraftwerk - (I wanted, "Showroom Dummies")

For some reason, I've never listened to optimal.lp or Understanding Wildlife. I'll have to get my hand on those. Especially optimal.lp. I've heard so much praise for that one. I find it interesting that you prefer optimal.lp over Frame. My understanding is that most people have it the other way around, but I'm probably wrong about that. Frame really made me appreciate the glitchier side of electronic music. Before that it was just to obscure for me.
