underworld! Yes. That album is under rated, but it isn't as sharp as their other efforts. Have you heard Oblivion with Bells yet? Great album. I saw U2 on their Pop Mart tour and they played Second in it's entirety before the show started. It was so cool.

Old man Einstein on top of his house. white deep blue
Andalusia red yellow red yellow black car.
Red light. far. black place. walls. blue chair.
Morocco. hamburg. paris.
The pieces of the puzzle are waiting.
The water of the dark boats gliding.
The bride boats gone out to sea and
Dave is floating. dave is floating.
And old man einstein crazy in his attic.
Crazy.

Mogwai - Zidane Soundtrack - nice mellow guitars, slightly remeniscent of Michael Brook, and minimalist drums/percussion. I really enjoyed Mogwai's music with The Kronos Quartet for The Fountain and bought this one immediately when I saw it. Very minimal, warm, and very nice. Some interesting noisescapes on Zidane as well.

Oddly - I've never heard mogwai... heard "of" them a billion times - just never "heard" them (at least not that I'm aware of).

Spinning recently:

Vir Unis - Book of Mutations - this a great album that I really love (and not saying that due to Mr. Unis being a long time friend, collaborator, and now business partner... )

Jeff Greinke - Lost Terrain - what a gorgeous murky foggy ambient album. Originally on Silent - rereleased on Hypnos (great move for Hypnos!)

XTC - Oranges and Lemons - good stuff when I'm in the right mood. I love the early albums -Black Sea especially!

Woob - Woob (1194) - an amazing classic from the em:t label. ambient / chill out stuff. The 25 minute or so track one is on my favorites list (ok ok - my favorites list is stupidly long... but oh well...)

Kashmir is probably one of my all time fave songs EVER...I just gave a copy of Physical Graffiti to my 14 yr old's friend day before yesterday. He is learning to play Zeppelin and Black Sabbath on his guitar. It's pretty funny...the only song I can almost play on an electric myself is Symptom of the Universe. Right now I am listening to Antique Beats, Otep (it's in the car, my husband's,not sure I like it yet) and the Soundtrack from "Into the Wild" by Eddie Vedder. I adore this Soundtrack, it's a must for any Vedder fans out there IMHO. Middle son is creating very Kraftwerk-esque music on Fruity Loops right now, funny, he's never heard them.

Arovane - Tides

Had forgotten about this disc. Super-duper chilled grooves.

I don't think anyone has an issue with the mixes (especially due to the mixed together nature of them...). You do some great stuff... keep them coming.

I loves me a good album, but mixes are the best way to introduce new music and get used to an artist. There is something more exciting about a mix too. Once the first song on my favorite album begins, I know where it is going to end up and how long it will take. A mix is like being at a party. You never know who's going to pop up. Here's a mix for you.

1. Fripp...Catherine Wheel
2. Just Like Heaven...Dinosaur Jr.
3. The Librarian...My Morning Jacket
4. Wuthering Heights...Kate Bush
5. Our Hour...Lansing-Dreiden
6. Always Crush Me...Guided By Voices
7. Garf...Lambchop
8. I Want Your (Hands on Me)...Sinead O'Connor
9. At the Hop...Devendra Banhart
10. I Only Said...My Bloody Valentine
11. Paper Planes...M.I.A
12. Crows...The Gothic Archies
13. Strange...Galaxie 500
14. Cowboy...Randy Newman
15. A Prayer for the Unborn (Hybrid Remix)...Gary Numan
16. No One Will Ever Love You...The Magnetic Fields
17. A Man of a Million Faces...Stephin Merritt
18. My Valuable Hunting Knife...Guided By Voices
19. You Only Live Twice...The Strokes
20. Chicago...Sufjan Stevens
21. The Nude...Catherine Wheel

Those are all songs that are over 150 on my iPod playcount, hence the theme and their grouping. If you ever get to check those out, let me know if you like any of them.

I am current listening to My Bloody Valentine's Loveless for the millionth + time to ready myself to get tickets for their show tomorrow.

Im all over the place with what I listen to all the time.
Lately Ive been mad on an album called Ma Fleur by Cinematic Orchestra on Ninja Tunes Label.

Their collab with Patrick Watson is great. Its unforgettable.
Any of you guys who havnt herd their stuff. I'd descirbe it as a Classical/Jazz Funk fusion. This latest album is slightly more acoustic. very nice.
