It's an amazing dvd... it's also a good 'demo' disc for home theater (according to my home theater buff friend). Stunning stuff.
I've only seen them live once - front row center for Hold Your Fire. My first band was a cover band - we did a couple of Rush covers (admittedly - they probably weren't all that great... always fun to play the synth line in Subdivisions though... :)
I dug out an old kraftwerk - music non-stop cassette and was listening to it in the car last night / this morning... ah- the joys of cassettes! I think this is the first kraftwerk I was exposed to - it's definitely the first I ever bought. I believe I kept hearing it in the same 'big teen disco' dance club that I at some point met John/Vir Unis and his brother. Ironically - we met I believe because his brother walked up to me and said "your a keyboard player aren't you?" - he said he could tell because of the way I danced. Weird that a lifelong friendship started out due to my dancing funny...
Also had world party - goodbye jumbo which has a few favorite tracks on it when I'm in the right mood. Also on cassette... :)
Now that I'm sitting at my desk at work... shifting back to ambient with em - all the stars burning bright - this is a fantastic beatless drifty spacish album from em (aka m bentley - owner of The Foundry label).
That is just a lovely album. Colin Meloy is from a different century or something. Perfect little album. It's uniquley captivating from start to finish. The Mariner's Revenge Song...phew, that some songwriting.
I can't can't can't stop listening to the song "Librarian" off of My Morning Jacket's upcoming Evil Urges. Seriously, it's at 261 play count on my iTunes. I feel like a kid again.
