'man with the movie camera' by cinematic orchestra is fantastic. I haven't heard 'ma fleur'.

No listening today - except for the radio in the car.

That is the quote of my life. Really. I was writing that down all over things even though I was 26 at the time. That is my most played song of the past ten years.

Third - Portishead

I can't get enough of this album! I'm listening to it in my car over and over. It's addictive, ethereal rock that gets in your skin and grows....This is by far the best album I've heard in a long time from anyone. I'm reminded slightly of PJ Harvey at times, but Beth Gibbons is really all her own. She sounds possessed at times as she wails over lo-fi gritty drums and wailing guitar. It's quite ambient at times as well. I can't say enough how good it is.

I've been so tempted to just go buy this one... glad it's got you excited - might be enough to make me go splurge on it. :)

I just have the one cd from them - it's great start to finish.

I gave that one a pretty thorough listening and came away wanting...not sure what. I loved it, but at the same time I found myself going back and replaying Dummy and thinking how revolutionary that album was when it came out. I know they were consciously trying to get away from that sound to a certain degree with this release, but I think it kind of worked against them a little bit.

Or maybe my head's where heads don't belong. Who knows?

People think I'm weird because I exercise to ambient/tribal music. Nice to know there's another like me out there...

....of course, that's what this site is all about in the end, isn't it?

Just found a new band from Germany, "Qntal" ~ they are darkwave. I really loved their video on Youtube done to "Von Den Elben" although really, I prefer their harder stuff. Another band I found recently, is Gjallarhorn - they are from Finland and they have a great youtube video for their song "Suvetar" (Goddess of Spring). Tribal bellydancers have amazing taste in music...I keep being introduced to bands from all over the world that are just totally inpirational.
