Alright... I recently had a "Proud Dad" moment, I was playing Black Sabbath's Iron Man (Yep, I just saw the film!). Anyway I was in the hallway & I could hear my daughter Samara rummaging through her toy boxes. I thought nothing of it until I heard her screaming, I immediately ran into her room to find her head banging along to the music! Not a bad musical taste for a two year old huh?

Very shortly after my beloved grandfather passed, I was at a HUGE rummage sale at a church in the middle of the desert.. I was going to be drumming in the day of the dead parade here in Tucson, so I wanted to find a nice suit-like jacket.. There were hundreds and hundreds to choose from. A dark earthy green one with big stitches and buttons caught my eye, so I forked over the $2 and it was mine. Later that week my mother saw me in it, and I could tell she was holding back tears.. It had been my grandfathers.

1 minute makes all the difference

If I remember to grab my wallet and keys before walking out; if the neighbors had decided they didn't need to go inside just that instant; hell, if my wife and I had paused to admire the interesting way the cat had posed, we would have walked out of our house 1 minute later. That 1 minute would have meant that the neighbors dog, who the owner tells me "has something of a problem with little critters", wouldn't have been charging off of the porch as I rounded the corner from my driveway with my two dogs (jumbo Pomeranians, but still VERY LITTLE CRITTERS). And maybe that dog wouldn't have attacked ours, gouging a nice couple of holes in the female Pom's arm and chest before I could pull it off. And maybe I might not have cracked that other dog's ribs kicking it to get it away from my wounded animal who, after four hours at the emergency Vet, is blessedly fine.

Random. We were going out to dinner in 10 minutes. A 1 minute delay would have changed everything.

Why is the word "abbreviation" so long?

I hope Im not looking for a big fight here...

Can evolution explain the existence of a platypus?

not that I wanted to start a a Creationism vs. Evolution argument really. Interesting to me nontheless

The only thing that can be explained by the platypus is that God has a sense of humor and enjoys fucking with evolutionists.

"Okay, so let's take a beaver and give it a duck's bill. HA! No wait....it's a mammal, but it lays eggs!!"

Must have been a riot.

Good thing I brought it up :D.

I don't believe in evolution as it is already anyway. Don't care what anyone wants to think of me on this one. As far as I know there's no evidence till this day supporting it from what I've read up on. If evolution was true, the world would be pretty messed up with all sorts of intermediate species everywhere. So there should be no struggle to find any evidence...Instead, they are still struggling to find the missing link between ape and man after 300 years or so of believing in this theory!

Anyone prove me wrong here...?

That's the thing... you can't prove you wrong or right on that. No one can - it's a faith leap either direction (ok - there are probably many directions - but there are 2 big directions that tend to have people jumping where I live... evololution vs. creationism).

Tangent... cool that archeologists found the temple in Syria (I think? Only saw a quick snippet on the news this morning) that predates the pyramids and may be the first permanent structure... built by nomadic tribes that may have now had a reaon to settle. Interesting... Of course - in 30 years we'll find something else - but that's the great thing with people - we keep searching.
